Legalizing Prostitution
Prostitution is a vice that should be abolished completely. The increase in crusades in the recent years is a clear indication that people are fed up with prostitution. Therefore, I feel prostitution should not be legalized in Wisconsin, and the world at large.
Prostitution demeans the female gender. It makes women to be toys that men use, thereby would in the end increase male chauvinism. If we respect our women in the society, the aspect of legalizing prostitution should not even pass our minds. Doing the contrary, would increase the demand for prostitution, which would increase diseases in the society. For instance, HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are likely to increase over time.
Moreover, legalizing prostitution will increase the level of violent incidents within Wisconsin. Prostitutes normally experience violent experiences and many women often are victimized by the male gender. In addition, in the religious view, having sex with a person apart from your life partner is wrong. Therefore, legalizing the it, would make more people to sin. I feel it would reduce the spirituality in Wisconsin.
Consequently, legalizing prostitution will create an immoral society, as many people will deem the vice to be normal. Specifically, children would grow up with a mentality that prostitution is right. In fact, it would increase the number of teenagers that engage in premarital sex. Moreover, it may encourage young teenagers to illegally do prostitution to make some money.
In conclusion, prostitution should not be legalized in Wisconsin. Legalizing it would demean women, increase male chauvinism, increase violent acts, result to an immoral society, and make people break their religious beliefs. Therefore, I feel we should not legalize it.
