The other nearest neighbor of Costa Rica is Panama. The life expectancy rate of Panama is quite similar to that of Costa Rica i.e. 75.35 years for males and 81.04 years for females as on 2013. Similarly, the literacy rate accounts to be quite similar within Panama (i.e. 94.7% male and 93.5% female as on 2010) and Costa Rica.
